Or do I get the non-electric TERN Short Haul (£1100) and add a bafang mid drive? works out cheaper and more upgradeable over the long-term?
Always wanted to do this but its an alu frame so brazing on batt mounts isnt possible .. will have to get creative, tbh I'd be open to a hub motor on that and control box can live in that dead space in rear-ish triangle.

Cheers, yeah, the standard non electric Haul seems like a good deal considering the £3k electric one doesn't it, although components are crap.
Sure there's somewhere to mount the battery....
The idea of a bike specific battery and motor going obsolete in 6-7 years a bit annoying.
Mid or hub drive give freedom maybe. Are the hub mounted motors difficult to mount? Assume they need to brace to the chainstay somehow? I've never looked into it.
I was tempted to make one... I did a conversion using the officinerecycle kits for somebody, and that was quick and simple to add to an old mtb, but the kit is pushing £1k+ with shipping and duty fees.
Thought it would be fun to make a cargo bike with a 'softride' carbon beam, but that's way in the future. -

plus jubilee clip plus rubber strip to protect frame
I'm after a cargo and toyed with an omnium but think I'd rather a long-tail'ish. I'd appreciate any pointers with the TERN.
I've settle on a Tern Quick Haul - Has anyone got any impartial long-term feedback on these and where is a good place to buy? I'm in Norwich but could travel to East London or Cambridge, or SURGE CYCLES seem to offer a decent amount of free accessories with a bike purchase - but they are miles away if I need warranty help.
