Hey, what age is this suitable for?

If anyone wants a weeride for the price of postage hit me up, I have one going spare. It’s in very used condition, but it’s still a going concern. Needs a new bolt for the top tube bracket thing, as this one is rounded off now, but otherwise the only issues are aesthetic and it seems a shame to throw it in the bin.

Has anyone got a thorn tandem for kids and adults? There’s one cheap new us, I’m tempted for me and the youngest so he can keep up with big brother

I’ve been using Mac ride for years with daughter. Absolutely love it.
She’s just turned 6 and use it a bit less frequently these days (E.g. longer spins to her gymnastics class as too far to cycle herself). She is tall for her age and sometimes I get a wee bump on the chin but minimal. In terms of weight she is approx 23kg so still within the limits.
The pic here is slightly old as I put on steel fork (with rack eyelets for full dad bike mode) and left more spacers in to give more space.
Still works well. Would absolutely recommend this set up, once kid old enough. She’s been using this from 2 years old. She loved it from first spin.
Able to have the chats while on the move

What's the best budget shotgun/top tube seat, or are they all the same?
It's for this bike
I'd rather not have any extra cross members - just a top tube attachment.
Cheers

Cheers I've PMed.
On the blurb it says it doesn't work with top tube mounted cables. How exactly does it fit/or obstruct and can I get it to work with my bike?
Also do you/anyone elese know if it'll work with skinning tubes?
Cheers

Also looking at this random photo picked from this thread
Vs my rear seat:
Would I be better off making the child seat higher up so I could then try and move it fwd towards ky seat? Wondering if this would help with legs and stability*.
*I know low is usually preferable but figure if it's nearer my body then it'll feel less unstable

I think ideally it's close enough that wearing a backpack means it's the most uncomfortable journey your child has ever been on.

Sorry, just seen this. That top tube cable might cause a problem actually, the seat has a rubber block that sits on top of the tube. There is a small gap either side that might align with the cable, but probably they will clash.

Anyone got a good technique to strap a travel buggy to a rack?

Anyone interested in a Burley Bee 2-seater trailer? Well used and loved, but my two are getting squashed in there now? Looking for £60. Can get photos up this evening if there's interest. I'm off to Poland on Wednesday for three weeks so can arrange collection from London Bridge area, otherwise I'll be back on 16th August to arrange pickup.

What kind of thing are you thinking of - cheapest is normal bike with baby seat, but there are other options ?
-
• #695
yeah the cheapest would be fine, I need to use it for one week only, so.. other options can be fine also.

• #696
Do you have a bike already (of any kind)?
Cheapest option is to grab a hamax and try that out if so.If you need to buy a bike and it's for this purpose, I'd go retro MTB if you want to be cool (means prices have gone up!) or hybrid for cheap and cheerful

This is what i'm using currently, Thule Coaster XT with my old MTB to occasionally transport a 2yr old and a 4yr old. Bought it online form Germany for about £250 new, at least £100 less than UK prices. It's also being used as our main double buggy/thing transported when out and about.

I've got a Hamax seat you'd be welcome to borrow, have messaged too.
Mac ride?
Presumably at some point, whatever front seat you use, you won't be able to see over her head though
Edit - not recommended:
For ages ~2-5, up to 60lb/27kg
