Way back in this thread, someone informed me of a little waterside cut through that will take you there

I've been using that cut-through a lot this year to get to Soutwick Green, Cross Road, Upper Kingston Lane, and then up the bridleway to Truleigh Hill or Edburton Hill in order to ride eastwards on the SDW.
