Just coming up the road towards me, something very fitting about it on a fine summers day.

Worth a few quid

This saddens me a little - couple of big German barges that I walk past most days left to rot.

Indeed, it made me smile. Was also nice to see that it was a used classic, you can’t really make out too well in the pic but the back seats were loaded with stuff.

Have you guys ever seen one of these?
Happened to see pictures of one recently, it is a toyota BB open deck.
Images nicked from the internet, another little fun japanese car that can fit many bikes.

That is amazing! Never knew these existed in this setup.

Another bit of fun. Pretty sure the same person has a couple of full on drift cars.

Apparently the insides of my wheels need painting to help mitigate the tires constantly going down.
Is this a thing?
In valve stem seal news from a few pages back it looks like I'm driving to Birmingham (from Reading) to meet Matty who will replace them for £100. Still seems sketchy.

I have had a mastic sealant put on rims by a tyre shop to help seal them. It worked. The rims were cheap alloys and had corroded allowing air to escape. I would not describe it as painting them, just a bead of sealant.

Kwik fit said this to me. Suggested a local place too.

This sounds right

I'm sure it's immense if you have a new one and/or money to burn

Or just use slime

I had a Lupo 1.4 sport 100hp. Not in pea green though sadly. Loads of fun, mine was an open air too. Wish I still had it.

True. Suprise £500 bill today following requirement to replace all for tyres and fix alignment. The insides of the rear tyres were showing the steel belts FFS.
So apparently in 'things they don't tell you about car ownership vol. 29', you need to get a garage to check wheel alignment/tracking following replacement of arms/suspension/etc - great.

Your mechanic should have mentioned this.

I agree 🙂

My Volvo XC70’s original rims were chrome powdercoated from the factory, which almost entirely corroded off, leaving the rim beads rough and unable to hold air very well.
I had them turned on a lathe, and the beads sealed with a substance. This worked for a while, until they started leaking air again so I replaced them with identical but non-chromed rims.

I had a pot of paint in the boot of my car, waiting to be taken back to b&q when I next drive past...
Apparently paint pots explode when it gets too hot. It must have popped the lid off and landed upside down, as it was the entire contents of a pot of emulsion.
Got the floor out and jetwashed and it's not terrible, but imagine I'll replace the boot panels at some point.

If only it was grey paint.

Or a nice shade of farrow and ball... Could have been worse - could have been gloss I suppose :)

I admire how philosophical you appear to be about this.

It was a bit of a panic to get it all out before it set... I found all the boot liner panels on eBay for £50 delivered, which is way less than I thought it would be.
Theres some module or other under one of the panels which is now white... Seems ok at the minute, hopefully it'll continue to be alright in the future.
On safari shooting tigers...
Saw this on my cycle yesterday
