    I really don't get this poo-pooing the idea of travelling to the depths of the ocean to see something interesting.

    It's like calling everyone who goes to look at the taj mahal or machu picchu basic bitches because they could've just bought a book or Google imaged it.

  • Taj Mahal doesn't cost 250k to view through a 35cm porthole at 3000m below sea level. You're removing a lot of nuance from your comparison

  • So I am crystal clear, you're saying I am removing a lot of nuance from the comparison of traveling to the bottom of the ocean with approaching a homeless person and burning money in front of them?

    Or people travelling to see interesting things?
