Yes I think I’m going to push for replacement. A new seat is just under £300 and getting it repaired is going to be a pain in the arse and I’ll be without a bike whilst it’s done. The saddle was also in fairly immaculate condition so me stapling a cover on is never going to look as good.
The fire brigade insurers seem to be not overly fussed about paying out so hopefully they won’t care.
On second thought try Fowlers Parts for a replacement cover, or even replacement seat. It’s about making your bike the same as before the damage, so try for a replacement not a repair.
