Ooh yeah, good suggestions. Definitely in the right area. The snowflake dial verges into too "dressy" for me (beautiful though) but the 115 dial pattern is closer. Will investigate more, thanks.
The thing I like about the JLC is the cool and unfussy finish. It's refined but not fancy, if that makes sense.
The SARX line of "baby GS" type designs is probably more along the right lines.
