I put the altaplex and duomid up in the garden, god the duomid is a palace compared to alta. Also the rectangle shape of it really gives you so much more space. This leads me to conclude the solomid xl would be the best solo shelter for me. Also working as a double shelter for 2 in a pinch. With the duomid as a family.
I can see why you two like a tarptent DR for two. The Durston xmid 1/2 do look nice if backpacking
