A great day in Hertfordshire for me being coached by Tony Doyle at UK Bike Skills
He managed to catch me getting pretty high on the wall ride. Oh and thanks for the bike loan too.

What are people using to carry spare tube/multi tool/tyre levers on their mountain bikes?
-
• #26831
One up EDC pump with tool and tubeless applicator inside. Since I run inserts, a tube would be a ultra faff ... I just don't carry one
-
• #26832
Thanks just looked up that EDC pump. Looks interesting.
Is it a bad idea to run a saddle tool roll with a dropper post?
-
• #26833
I'm sure it's doable but I hate rattly stuff. What you definitely don't wanna do is scratch it. Edc next to the bottle cage is a one stop shop.

Can't see why as long as it doesn't hit anything when you drop the post. The weight is going to be insignificant compared to the loads it's designed for.

You might nail it with the tyre under full compression depending on the frame design.

I use a hip pack for tools (or jacket pockets in winter) and a velcro strap a tube to the frame

I have a bag that someone on here made strapped to the underside of my saddle. I run tubeless but on long remote solo rides I take two tubes, puncture kit, multi-tool and co2 and it all fits in. I have had it for a couple of years and it is still going strong.

In that pic you don't run a dropper or rear suspension. So moving bits won't influence that set up. And you can't ruin you dropper by scratching the sides of it with the bag rubbing.

Yeah, I used to ride a dropper but when it started sagging I replaced it with the original rigid post and never bothered getting it repaired. I don't ride stuff that really justifies a dropper, I found it a bit of unnecessary faff.
-

No worries. Just pointing it out as a potential difference. If you lower your dropper and go into compression and your stuff flies all over the trail it's less than ideal.
Even without that I find saddle rolls and bumpy stuff isn't a good mix. That's why I run a frame bag on my gravel bike, after one to many "now let's find that multitool" sort of incidents.

Did 15 miles of classic Peak District trails around Ladybower last night. Got back to the car and realised that I’d forgotten to switch the climb switch off again after the first climb. The first climb was out of the car park.
Funnily enough I had a cracking time. Probably helped that I was taking it slow because obviously it just had to rain for a good 30 mins before I headed off, just to make sure that everything was as greasy and slippery as possible.
Light was p incredible tho.

Much better memory than I have of that place, which is being shacked up in some all-included run down resort with my Dad giving me a hard time. No bike at the time, no mode of transport, no chance to get away ... All I did was laps in the pool all day long and bedtime at 8pm because I didn't care for a bunch of Germans getting sloshed in the resort "disco"

The Canaries get a bad rep, we rent a villa away from the crowds and you can ride for miles without seeing a soul. Nothing technical just lovely remote open space.

Well. All water down the creek mate. My dad's not with us anymore and I'm super far from anywhere now so I'll probably never go there again.
I do however vividly remember a goat eating a concrete bag ... Pretty barren place rly.

Which reminds me, any recommendations for a water bottle that doesn't invite the runs?

I have a nukeproof one (in the pic above) with a lid. Bought it after a bad case of upset stomach after riding through slurry
