Whether the contracts are under English law or not, who knows - esp if the possible negligence is in international waters?

Someone would have to prove they were negligent.
Occasionally the onus is on the operator to prove they met a minimum standard of care.
Yeah sure, but if there's no negligence what are they being sued for in the first place?
