• How does one go about insuring something like this?

I'd guess it'd be a small fortune with the extensive modifications and daytime only MOT?

  • MSM Insurance?

  • Classic policy such as Peter James or the like can cover this. Also there is no such thing as a daytime MOT. If it has lights and switches they get tested, if they aren't there they don't. I think, brake light and a reflector are the minimum requirement?

  • Do it! This drives past near my every couple of days. Cut cam gears make such a lovely sound.

  • Add an LED headlight below the fairing and you're good for all round surely?

Something like this incredible Africa Twin engined Bros NSR-esque thing a chap in Ireland has built...

  • Standard road fairings are also available

I'd get in contact with seller if you're seriously keen... reads like a road bike that's had its fairings swapped so might not be as extreme as it looks?

  • If you get this I will be so jealous and will probably buy the next RVF400 that turns up.

The only thing that stopped me was I just couldn't get reasonable insurance in central London, even in a secure car park (but not a garage). Hopefully after a year of bike ownership ticks over there are more options.

  • If you do get a vfr/rvf gimme a shout and I'll pick the bike to bits and tell you what is wrong ;)

You would be amazed at the things people do to them. Google rick oliver and his upgrades.

  • Be aware they are TINY tiny.
