• Henry Cole on his motorbike show gave a rave review to a big Zero electric adventure bike this evening. https://zeromotorcycles.com/en-gb/model/zero-dsrx He really enjoyed the motor. Which cheered me up, because I've been struggling to imagine electric EVs being fun when you open the throttle. The range is too short and the charging takes too long and the price is probably silly, but if we're all condemned to an EV future, maybe it won't be terrible?

  • I had a spin on a Zero FXE recently and it was silly fun! I've no doubt the fun of electric bikes is massive, if they can just get to a point of having 300km range and reasonably quick charge times I think everyone would be happy! Even as it stands the current range and charge times are pretty acceptable for a commuter!

  • Biggest long term problem with electric is weight. Heavy powerful bikes are becoming the norm when lightweight bikes are the real ideal. Electric trials are probably the sweet spot at the moment.
