No. It’s pretty straightforward.
1. Make the box (I used dominoes)
2. Create a couple of internal braces to keep it square
3. Make the front
4. Join with flat hinges (like these)
5. Create French cleat and attach to back / wall
6. Hang it

Was going to suggest something like this beauty ! For cost saving you could do it all in painted mdf and then use a pine board on the top for durability.
