It would be remiss of those on this forum not to suggest 2, one for you, one for your wife.
I'm 6'2'' and have a standard (580mm) seatpost. I do however pull the seatpost up to the full height so a lot depends on your inside leg and how much you will use the B. My personal preference is flat bar, but try and see which you prefer.

Yes, I've messaged you.

I was going to ask the question: do wider bars affect the fold & I think you've just answered it!

It'll be predominantly her bike for train commuting 3 days. I'll be using it sporadically. So sounds like a flat bar and normal post to start and we can go from there. I'm assuming swapping bars isn't too traumatic an affair?

Stem varies in length depending on bars, so some combination wouldn't work if that makes sense?
-
• #13707
you may also need to re-cable everything if you swap the bars...

Sort of. More research needed. And more focus on key user. Thank you.

Ah. Worth getting right then.

Anyone want to swap their Borough Large bag for my O-bag in white?
I love it but need some more space

Possibly the wrong thread for this, but does anyone have any experience with the long-term hire of a Brompton?
I signed up for this and completed 2/3 pages of the form before getting distracted by cooking tea or something else child-related.
I later saw that I'd received a confirmation email that my order was successful (which for some reason came from a @weareherd.co.uk email) but I've not had payment taken or heard anything further.

I suspect when people are in the office tomorrow, everything will happen, and then at some point in the next few days you will have one...
I also suspect it is the same mechanism they use to identify and bill you for the 'hire service' which I have used, and it took me about 24-48 hours to get it to work properly.

Not sbbohr but it’s not a difficult task, just takes time and stuff most cyclists are unlikely to have (big reamer/drill bit to chew out the old plastic sleeve).

My initial application was on 11th though and it says they should take payment within 4 days.
I'll give them a call today and see what's going on.

They do affect the fold. (I've just put Kuosac bars on mine). So: you can go wider than stock without stopping them fold, but eventually the bars are going to hit on the floor before they anchor.
If you have a full rack on the back with four larger easy-type wheels on, that'll raise the whole thing folded, and you can get a bit more bar width on. I think I ended up cutting my Kuosac midrise down to 530, because my Ergons add a good 10mm each side on, and it just fits - I rock to the side a little as I let the bar fall and it gets caught.

@coventry_eagle, bloody bolt fell off!
I did nick one of the bolt from my work Brompton.
No more creak and spins really nicely.

I will add more pictures this weekend before I leave - just need to give it a proper clean ;)

Is the hidden bolt still there? ;)
Since were on the subject, IMO there's no need for the bolt to be hidden, and yeah, seems like after market lot still kept the same design.

My OCD would say get black ones but one can live with this atm.

Was gonna ask how do you find those seatposts. I used it on my brompton and it kept sliding down .
have you figured out what length seatpost you need? at a guess, the standard one is unlikely to be long enough for you (I need the telescopic), and my experience was that they feel a lot nicer to ride when they actually fit...
