Considering buying this frame for cheap but not sure about the dent. Looks shallow but over a relatively big area. Any thoughts?

does it really have to go up to 40nm? That seems super high. I did it as tight as I could manage by hand and I still feel I have a long way to go.
I know there was a thread recently about what you should and shouldn't ask your LBS to do. Would they hate me if I asked them to install some cranks because I am too weak?

That's usually about 40Nm unless you are very weak or using a tiny lever, it's generally easier to get the Allen key and crank arm in a position where you can use grip strength to squeeze them together, why you'd want to off the bike I'm not sure though, you'll then have the awkward job of removing it.

How to service (check/replace) bearings on Royce freewheel rear hub? Looks like this, 121mm OLN. Unscrew by hand? Ends are all rounded so no way to grip by a tool...

No, I tried that already. Apparently according to google you wrap round bits in alu foil and 'unscrew' with some pliers.....wtf, probably most expensive hubs there are and this?

Anyone know the wheel size of the traditional Pashley postie bikes? Someone I know has picked one up, older than this, and tubes/tyres are shot;

That one has discs, regular 26" seems a bit too modern for a pashley, let alone disc brakes, although that's what they look like. I'd get them and measure things if there's no clues left on the tyres, but I've only ever seen a couple of tyres so fucked you couldn't make out something useful.

Looks like a disc wheel in that pic, but there it’s not connected to anything and there’s no caliper.
I think the wheels should be 26“ x 1.75 ie not mtb 26ers and should have drum brakes as well. -

26 1 3/8" IIRC for the correct wheel size.
Seen it fitted with regular 26" and it doesn't ride that well.

I was never good a fractions! (But I did know they weren’t regular 26er)
Bit like my Guv’nor is on 28”x1 1/2 or 40-635 or 700x38B when you ask for them the reply is “oh you need 700c” runs away screaming. -

Anyone know the rough cost to fix a broken track end on a 531 frame nowadays? I guess Vaz or somewhere else similar. The driveside track end just snapped off my frame at the brazing point where it meets the chain stay. Wondering if it's worth getting it re attached or not? The frame is nice, but not super nice.

Anyone else getting front derailleur drops on SRAM axs?
I've had a couple recently with various possible reasons. Bianchi with flexy bolt on FD mount. Another older carbon frame with a 'band on' front derailleur mount but drops seemed to be solved by a firmware update. Had a couple of other pro mechanics comment that the recommended SRAM install (alignment & height) isn't absolute gospel.
Looking to find a good chainspotter like the old SRAM red ones that had the 2.5mm screw into the front derailleur bolt head and then a lateral adjustment bolt.
I'd really like to have a fork bushing resizing tool for my Lyriks, but equally don't fancy spending £350+ on one. Are there any machinists on here that could knock up a couple of resizing heads for a bit of cash, but not loads of cash? Something like the SICD kit would be amazing
