  • I liked and I found some bits on myself

  • Askan just had a long break over 10 hours in Farmington, he was catching up to Edward in 3rd. Edward's pace/sleep has been very consistent. Askan's just started moving again. It will be interesting to see if he climb any more places or if he's running out of road to do that. Ben could definitely still challenge Kraig too.

  • 300 miles to the finish for Kraig and Ben is only 70 miles behind. Could get interesting over the next day.

  • Too late unless something goes wrong.

  • Another close one.

  • True, let's hope they get in fine and I think they have both just rested and will probably ride in without another stop?

  • Be interesting to hear from Ben, I hope someone records their arrival as usual.

  • It looks like Kraig always had it under control. Might have been able to pull out a bit more if Ben had got closer.

It's really rare there is a late stage catch in these events. TCR 2018 is the memorable one from a racing point of view (@skinny reeling in Bjorn Leonard). TABR 2016 was dramatic but because Steffen Streich self-destructed and went the wrong way.

Is this closer than TABR last year?

Edit - yes it probably is, 6.5 hours was the winning margin, although ISTR it was closer than that at a couple of points.

  • TCR 2018

I think that was more like 1000km from finish, if not a bit more.

  • Yes - but it's the latest overtake I can think of, apart from Steffen/Lael

  • Yes, last year Evan was gaining on Kraig it looked like he would pass for a while, but then he drifted back. Equally close as this year overall I'd say. I remember skinny and Sofiane in Italy Divide was fun to dotwatch, but obviously much shorter course! Wish I had been following when Mike and Kristof were competing too.

  • There's a guy who's interviewing riders around 100 miles from the finish and posting YouTube videos. And he has one up of Vasileios Karageorgos, and he definitely isn't on a single speed bike. So that's a bit disappointing. Oh well.

  • He had broken shifters so he registered at the start as single speed? lol.

  • Starts in a few days.

Some familiar names: Ben Davies, Omar Di Felice, Pawel Pulawski, Boris Pupic, Tanja Hacker.

  • Henri Do leads after 20 hours, 334 miles. The following 3 riders Pawel, Omar, Ben are all strong riders. Tanja is first female, 281 miles.

  • Pictures of first day.
Ben looks to have a very minimal set up.
Anyway, Henri has lost a lot of his lead, maybe he made the mistake of too fast early on. Omar sits in the second group for now. Tanja is riding a strong race.

  • Ben scratched, big shame for the UK.
It's become a three pack at the front.
Tanja is well placed in 4th.

  • Ben scratched, big shame for the UK.

Any idea why? He can't catch a brake, sucks

  • His dot was stopped at a motel for 16hrs is all I saw.
Something was up, but didn't look worrying to flag it here.

  • Few days left of this for front riders. Been a really tight battle of the top 3 since the start. 100 miles between them still. Tanja scratched due to neck issues (maybe shermers) annoying for her as she self-disqualified last time due to missing part of the route. I'd like Pawel to take it, let's see.

  • Any knowledge what happened to Tony Hauser (I think) to cause him to stop for nearly a week (the big horizontal line at 85hr). Amazing that whatever it was, he's started riding again, and isn't in last place. Rooting for him to see how high up he finishes (if he finishes)

  • I saw a picture of Tanya on facebook a couple of days ago, sitting on the floor wearing a neck brace.
The guy who posted the pic clearly didn't know what it meant, making comments about how she was doing wonderfully, etc. But it didn't look good, so not surprised she had to stop.

  • Can't find anything. His pace was mid pack so he should move up nicely at that rate.

  • Omar 130 miles from the finish, Pawel 40 miles behind him. One of the closer ones, should have a finisher today.

  • Omar first finisher in 18 days 10 hours.
