Yes, thank you. Sadly only their branch in New Malden have stock... :(
I think I might just go with the cheapest 12mm ply I can find on Sat and order the right stuff later.

Can you be smart with your box design and put some kind of slope towards a drainage slot along an inside perimeter? Presumably holding water in this area is the reason they rot. This might be a cheaper and more environmentally friendly option over the plastic coated ply. Do you have a place to park it where it can dry out quickly?

Also i can not stress this enough, get a good cover.

Can you be smart
Not sure! :)
But yes I've thought about draining holes, but also I'll need to find a way to induce a fall when parking the bike at home. Also considered a small removable panel in the middle of the floor board to access the headset... because why not?
But even with such measures outdoor board material, especially laminated I would imagine, should be protected, not sure buying the relevant products (paint, etc.) is more eco friendly than factory filmed one? Especially with left over? But yeah, tempted to see how long it goes unprotected / untreated, if I have a good storage regime in place (cover as @young_gun wisely said)

Why not go oil like kitchworktops? Pretty eco friendly

Why not!

Because I am too impatient, and was still hoping tonight that there was still a chance to try the cargo bike with the kids on Sunday, I bodged a double pull brake lever for the two front wheels V-brakes. The original cables, which had a split system, were unusable, and I thought it would be quicker than wait for specialist parts to be delivered. Successful but I used some old spare alloy struts from a front rack, hollow and threaded inside. Works fine but will inevitably weaken with time, so I'm going to order a proper dual pull lever. Spare cables I had were too short anyway, routing 's sucks. Thought I could get away without tandem length cables... SJS Cycles here I come!

I have a double Paul brake lever from back in the polo days, yours for a tenner!
-
• #11766
Wow! Did you mean double pull or double Paul? If the latter it's probably a little too posh, but interested either way! Will pm.

This is really nice work, thanks for sharing
I already feel preemptively terrible about my inevitable bodge...in fact I may not even bother and just give up cargo biking altogether

52v 20ah
It weighs 6kgIt’s a Unit Pack Power from eBay which is good because I know eBay will have my back if anything goes wrong.
It has a 2 year warranty which I made them clarify before I bought it. -

It’s just a bit of aluminium flat bar to protect that curved part of the arm because it constantly gets smashed into stuff.

What’s your plans?
There’s a chance I could make more battery trays if there’s a market for them.
