Paint can crack too

I'll say that's a crack for sure based on the photos.
If it was metal, such impact would have left a dent.

Sand it down and have a look is your best option

Can I do this
What, to draw the eye away from the other things which will get it sent to anti-porn?

• #131185
Exactly!

One scoblebrick drop between the front and rear of the saddle😩

Don’t listen to the naysayers, the chain will look good. Sometimes a judicious touch of bad taste can be extremely tasteful.

+1 to this, in fact I would say a little bit of bad taste is almost essential. You don't want a bike to look like it could be sitting on the showroom floor at Halfords.
So do the oilslick chain
Then level saddle, desticker wheels, and if you only have one bottle cage, put it on the downtube.
Less boring bar tape (but not oil slick!) and it'll be great

^ and ^^ this! Surely a magenta cannondale is a safe refuge for anti-adjacent parts.

I know, rank isn’t it. I’d add that isn’t my doing, just how it came. I’ve an SMP on it now (arguably pretty anti themselves)
@Eejit my thinking
@lemonade what tape do you think?
Cages will be Arundel steel mandibles for now, and the wheels will desticker and likely replace soon. And the bars will come down some

Depending on how bad taste you are prepared to go

Last one would actually look nice I think

Was on a group ride earlier this week and someone was on one of these purple CAADs. Looked awesome.
If your chain is anything like mine, any aesthetic impact of the oil slick finish will be lost after a ride or two anyway...

Awesome! What bars?
I've been advertising my coaster brake track bike on Marktplaats for over a month and it hasn't sold yet, at this point I'm thinking of just installing a set of bars like that and keeping it. Don't have much space in the apartment though... -

Thanks, they're Ergotec Country bars. I cut a couple cm's off.
I just looked your bike up its very nice, especially for the price. Track frames are so much cheaper these days compared to a couple years a go

Oh thats goooooooood
Not sure if the right place, but I'll give a try. After last crash I found some hairline cracks on the top tube of my S6, it's in the place where handlebars hit the top tube. I'm fully aware that identification via phots is very limited but perhaps you have some tips for me. I can barely feel the crack line with fingernail. I tried to stress the crack point and around it but it doesn't 'give' or makes any sound. The coin test doesn't indicate any difference too, but there's a chance I'm a tone deaf monkey.
Does it require some test at local carbon repair shop, and what would be that test? Or should I just ride and observe for now?
