  • What kind of travel can you get in the z-direction on a pantograph? Splines are very hard, especially tapered ones. The tolerances needed to get them to work well without overloading one spline or locking together for all eternity is quite a challenge. I look forward to seeing your approach!

  • I haven't thought things through yet but these cranks have a spline that doesn't taper and they seem to work with two pinch bolts so I am thinking about doing something similar but maybe more chunky and simpler to make.
    Not expecting this to be a business venture mind! I would need to get a CNC lather to make it profitable

  • So would you do the spindle on the mill with a dividing head and the crank on the panto? Super cool idea!
