Which is the essence of the problem isn't it? The UCI is letting organisers arrange races without proving in advance that they can at least meet the standards of a sportive. It's abysmal. The race organisers are essentially sub-contractors for the UCI and yet time and time again the UCI let the blame fall entirely on the people they themselves have failed to oversee.
