His overuse of 'Women' in this statement is really odd.

FFS. If you listen to any rider in pro cycling at the moment (man or woman) rider safety is such a huge issue. At the risk of sounding like a sensationalist doom monger, is it literally going to take someone being killed again like in the bad old days for change to actually happen?

I think Adam Hansen recognises this and is doing a great job of mobilising the riders to take a stand against poorly organised races.
It was the CPA, which Hansen is chair of, that successfully lobbied the UCI to cancel the final stage. More power to them, frankly.

He sounds like a bit of a prick. Sportives manage to get totally closed roads!

Not that I'm defending him in any way, shape or form, but a pro race is very different than a sportive, especially a major European one where you get thousands of riders in an event, and where most of them stay in the area for at least one night, bringing a lot of revenue to a community. You can close the roads for a day with minimal disruption as a) they are usually held on a Sunday and b) most locals know they are happening and plan accordingly.
A pro race has a field of 200 riders max, and require closed roads for a much shorter period of time, and usually clash with commercial trading hours.

Which is the essence of the problem isn't it? The UCI is letting organisers arrange races without proving in advance that they can at least meet the standards of a sportive. It's abysmal. The race organisers are essentially sub-contractors for the UCI and yet time and time again the UCI let the blame fall entirely on the people they themselves have failed to oversee.

Spectacular cheating at the baby Giro with 24 riders DQd for getting towed up the Stelvio.

The video is hilarious. Like they are hanging on to the cars talking about how, in the future, even spectators will be able to film, just from their phones.

The video

Appears to have been filmed in the 80s or 90s at first glance.

That's so strange, did they all get stuck behind a crash and think it's fine or something? Why's there a rider going back down?

To get to his hotel probably?
Vingogo, Vingogol or Vin-ge-gard. Can someone put the commentators right.
