  • I'm not NE but just requested to get on their mailing list. Looks amazing. Love film.

  • Potentially, I’ve been to the screening and did the introduction to the projecting course they did before screenings.

    They’re a great Duo

  • I just watched Close (2022) yesterday. A fantastic, heartbreaking film about childhood friendships, with great performances by the two lead actors.
Don't watch the trailer though as it kind of gives too much away.

  • Finally got to see John Wick 4, very good, probably my favourite. The DJ was a really nice touch.

  • AIR on Prime is a good watch, great 80's feel to it. Maybe partly due to the nostalgia why I enjoyed it so much
Edit: Been mentioned on here before, about a month ago.

  • Just watched it. So much Tangerine Dream.

  • That a reference to the camera work or the soundtrack or sumink?

  • Tangerine Dream made about 50% of the soundtrack. It’s a good thing, heavy 80s synth stuff

  • Rewatched O Brother Where Art Thou for the first time the other night. So good!

  • Such a fun film!

I watched Blackbird last night, written, directed, produced by and starring Michael Flatley. Not as much fun as a shitty, high budget vanity project should have been. Quite dull for the most part, just loads of scenes of Michael Flatley being the greatest, most widely adored man of all time whilst smouldering away in a very jaunty hat.

  • O Brother Where Art Thou

One of the few films I don't mind rewatching repeatedly, never not fun.

  • Pretty sure I stumbled across setup for a Peaky Blinders film yesterday in Cheshire. I thought it had gone about 3 seasons too long already...

Out in the UK in a couple of days, apparently.

  • Rachel Weisz, Emma Stone, Olivia Colman stellar performances in The Favourite. Whilst the male characters were reduced to mere pantomime in comparison. Hard to fault this film, production, costumes, make up, soundtrack, location all top notch.

  • Some great performances in there but the costumes and soundtrack really made this an amazing film

  • I need to rewatch it, I've not seen it since it was in the cinema. My first impression was that I wasn't as in to it as most of Yorgos Lanthimos' other films. I was absolutely battered on painkillers at the time though so my judgement was probably impaired.

  • Saw it at the cinema and loved it. Need to watch it again.

  • Interesting. I found the soundtrack so grating that it spoilt the rest of the film for me.

  • Beau is Afraid was maybe the most uncomfortable watch in the cinema I've ever had. Glad I saw it though, absolutely bonkers but very well made and definitely raised my awareness for anxiety disorders. This film is not for everyone, there were quite a few that left the theater within the first hour.

  • really looking forward to seeing this. living in the sticks means cinema not likely. but happy to make home uncomfortable

  • Terminator Dark Fate.

Quite entertaining. Nice updating. But the references to the first two get a bit OTT after a while to the point that it sometimes feels like a remake.

  • Watched ‘A Star is Born’ last night (now on iPlayer). Had no knowledge/expectations but it immediately grabbed my attention and was just expertly made. Good music, excellent performances, story restrained from going too far in soppy/harrowing direction. This sums it up better than I can. Recommended!

  • Watched The Covenant last night, enjoyable enough action movie, felt like it was trying to land some political commentary which struggled to with

  • Happy birthday Jurassic park.

Wasn't a massive fan but think it's aged pretty well.

  • Happy birthday Jurassic park.

First film I ever saw at the cinema, I must've been 8 or maybe 9, some little 2 screen place in the middle of nowhere in Cornwall or Devon or South Wales, my younger brother and sister watched Bambi and I saw Jurassic Park with my dad, it scared me shitless but was also so fucking cool, I was a bit of a dinosaur nerd before that and definitely moreso afterwards. Now I think Bambi is probably scarier, but Jurassic Park is an absolute classic.
