is there a thing similar to allemansrätten in denmark too?
-
• #7579
Nope. Most land is private i guess

You can sleep on all beaches (with very few exceptions) as long as you don’t pitch a tent and stay at least 50 meters from private houses

I love it

Not as cool as a homemade job obviously but were you not tempted to try a Bulldog? We used one for a while (The Omnium rack is at good height for a 3yo's feet ) and for such a crude design it actually works really well. Cost nothing on DBA either.

Ah, so probably like Germany, no tent (structure) plus arriving by foot, bike or horse you can sleep more or less anywhere.

But I am unsure about private land vs state owned.

There's a lot of bikes that have a cute saddle on the top tube in Berlin.
With folding footrests on the downtube.
It's quite a neat solution, no doubt yours will be great. And while I have no idea about your bonding level with the young cycling Tourist, it for sure is REALLY GOOD STUFF the two of you do together!

Yes but I can't cycle with a bulldog seat. My thighs and knees hit.
Also this solution I've made allows me to quickly remove the seat for commuting and then mount for weekend tours -

LIFE UPDATE
Today was my last teaching day and I am expecting to not return after summer but instead commit fully to Hulsroy International.
I have some good projects in the pipeline and I am mega excited about getting back on making YouTube videos.
One of them will be about using my vintage Deckel pantograph with 3D printed templates made with this Ender III pro @JesperXT has lent me.I will be using this setup to pantograph everything but also to manufacture complex geometries like splines. We will see how successful this is.

Pictures from a client. I quite like this look and the weight difference is amusing

big news!
good luck 🙌regarding the child seat, we had a similar top tube seat setup when my daughter was small, it was a great solution. I wonder if you could get some clamp on bar ends to use as foot pegs on the diagonal tubes to allow her to have a bent leg position? might be a bit more comfy than fully extended legs on rough ground?
-
• #7591
Yes good Idea. Tubes are 19mm OD so might require something custom

might require something custom
If only you knew someone handy at shaping bits of metal

Maybe some high density 3dp stuff?? Assuming weight is not a big deal

Always enjoy reading your thread, so much cool stuff going on and always at quite a pace! Best of luck going full-time with your manufacturing, please link to where you'll be selling from as I'd be keen to support and find an excuse to buy something!

Thank you ❤️
I have been a bit overwhelmed with teaching/life/parenting but plan is to do a webshop and rebuild hulsroy.com at some point this summer. @nogk and I have chatted briefly about it and I am likely to utilise their skills in creating this thing. We will see where it goes from here.

Wow, that must be amazing looking forward and also thrilling if everything will work out etc. What are your plans, like a classic framebuilder or also selling parts like stems, seatposts or parts for framebuilding?

Awesome!

Excellent solution on the foot pegs, looks like she is having fun up there. It's always a battle who gets to sit on the saddle on the Bullitt or the Bulldog on the dadbike.
We really need a second cargo bike to ease things out in family hauling. For which I would need a custom stem to match the Tumbleweed bars. :)
Good thing Hulsroy Industries is about to happen, must keep that orderbook full!
