I reuse KMC magic links as instructed but recently I reused a sram one. I remember these are single use - but I hadn’t got a kmc one when fitted and have been riding around yesterday and i didn’t die- thoughts please. I have now bought kmc links for this chain

You didn't die yet. You haven't accounted for the inevitable delay in SRAM's despatch of hit men to punish you for reducing their revenue.

Crank shorteners... How do I measure which hole to use in the crank adapter for my 9 year old daughter when shes stoking our tandem? Thanks all

What are my options for a fixed gear commuter that can take a fat tyre and guards? Snapped my ancient track path forks in half so retiring the lot and looking for something a bit more structurally reliable.
I know Cinelli made the tutto but they don't see to be very available. A complete wouldn't be the end of the world either as my old wheels are not worth putting on a new frame. -

how fat is fat? something like a pompino or the new version worth a look?
else a Day One (or Brixton for all of the mounting points) perhaps? -

Fat enough to be comfortable. 45c with guard would be nice.
I’m a bit pompano averse as all my mates who had them never rated them/said they felt joyless to ride.
My siblings have kindly offered to chip in for a frame/bike so I’m keen to find something that I’ll hang onto. Have to admit that despite wanting something new and reliable, the v1 gangsta track (despite not really fitting my needs) is very tempting lol. -

Ah! I loved my pomp before it got nicked - think i had 38c on them at the time with raceblades, silly-wide bars and all.

This looks like a handy like for like swap.

45c with guards sounds like quite a lot.
Was going to say a cross check, but that wouldn't do anything like that size.
-
• #117336
Yeah my brother has a cross check and I think he runs like 30 or 28c with guards.
I’m probably looking for something that doesn’t exist. -

Also how come I can’t find an all city nature boy anywhere? Thought they were relatively common.

Ooh yes plz!

I'm a big fan of my Pompino! It's great fun set up with 38c tyres and sweepy risers. I've not ridden any other similar fat tyred fixed gears though so don't have anything to compare to. What about a Genesis Day One?

Cheers.
I'll take that as clear.

We’re looking for a stove top kettle to replace our dead sage cordless one, that is the third one of different makes we’ve killed in 2years (hard water area). So back to simpler things, except the hob is halogen. The only one I’ve found that actually states it’ll work is an Alessi Tea Rex and I’m not paying £160. Any ideas?
I’m a Twat and the hod is induction! Idiot!

It's probably worth looking into what you need to work on halogen. I've got a Hario Buono for making coffee with (you probably don't want a gooseneck kettle for general use I guess), which does work with halogen but it's not explicitly stated in the specs on the site.

Good shout, I quite fancy one of those for myself, do you thing you’d be able to drill the lid handle for an analogue temperature probe? I really don’t like their digital one.
And Liz has just spotted that le creuset stove tops will work, so I now can see a purple one of those in our life soon… -

I don't see why not, though there's already 3 holes on the lid to allow steam to escape, so you may be covered on that front depending on the probe size

My Day One was running 650b 47's, though changed to a 38c. Think I might sell it though, getting no use
Good to know (I’d thought that wasn’t possible and that the mono RS was the first 11speed hope freehub’d hub) - this is an early pro model - a pro 1 maybe? I’m looking at buying it and was hesitant due to wanting everything I’m running to be cross compatible…
