  • Hub motor setups seem pretty easy to fix. I bought a bike in a similar state. New battery, display and some wiring and good as new on the ebike side.

    Will re instate the original non electric wheel to start with (which was provided with the bike) then investigate.
    Definitively would have benefited a granny great last night, but I guess I can't get a front derailleur for a triple on that fat tube...

  • Gearing for manual pedalling: my bike is about 40kg with the box on. Plus child and bits adds up to 60-65kg. I’ve got a 32T narrow-wide at the front and 11-34 cassette at the back. That seems to be plenty of gearing IMO 👍

  • I mean best bet is figure out what bots you have and go from there. For gearing id keep it simple with 1x. More gears probably less useful then real range. Its pretty flat where we are with some incline but we mostly use 3 gears only.
