how fat is fat? something like a pompino or the new version worth a look?

Fat enough to be comfortable. 45c with guard would be nice.
I’m a bit pompano averse as all my mates who had them never rated them/said they felt joyless to ride.
My siblings have kindly offered to chip in for a frame/bike so I’m keen to find something that I’ll hang onto. Have to admit that despite wanting something new and reliable, the v1 gangsta track (despite not really fitting my needs) is very tempting lol.

What are my options for a fixed gear commuter that can take a fat tyre and guards? Snapped my ancient track path forks in half so retiring the lot and looking for something a bit more structurally reliable.
I know Cinelli made the tutto but they don't see to be very available. A complete wouldn't be the end of the world either as my old wheels are not worth putting on a new frame.
