• It's probably just a matter of time, although GS have tended towards doing stuff that's inspired by their classic designs rather than out-and-out reissues, at least since the trio of 55th anniversary reissues (SBGW047, SBGR095, SBGV009). Those were 10 years ago and they haven't done a proper/accurate 44GS reissue since.

They do occasionally still roll out the VFA moniker for special occasions, eg the SBGH265 from 2018. Adjusted to -1/+3 s/d.

  • Sbgh265…

Completely missed that they did this although not surprised - it was limited to 20 pieces and a $53K rrp!
Agree that it would be odd for GS to full homage but I wouldn’t say never.

  • Yeah it was a big boy collector’s GS, platinum case etc.

I think it would do them no harm to have a VFA line of “special” versions of some of their existing watches, but then in a way it’s probably worth more to them to use it to market LEs to the wealthier and more dedicated collectors who actually give a crap.

Also one minute per month is not necessarily a huge selling point now when a) spring drive exists and b) every single watch Rolex makes meets that standard.
