  • How thick is the quartz version?

  • Not quite as relaxed as the person in the dial but close

  • My Gshock had a meltdown this week.

Gone back to Casio for inspection.

  • About 14mm with a smug over 45mm lug to lug, and a smug over 42mm.

Seiko being Seiko, they wear smaller.

  • @CitizenTomatio Sorry to hear that. Glitch aesthetic looks cool though…

  • That’s pretty remarkable, thanks for sharing.

  • 5610 is so good

  • Friday fun, waiting for my bag at Lisbon airport

  • The fun Seiko 5 colourways keep coming (alongside the OG reissue). Feels like they're hitting their stride with the retro stuff especially.

The "rally diver" theme (on the left) is particularly nice IMO.

  • Very cool, I wonder if they’ll revisit the VFA’s?

  • I was helping my in-laws clear out their loft the other week and came across this Pop Swatch still in its original box. Changed the battery which got it going again but seems to be running at about half speed which is a shame. Not sure what else I can do to fix that as it doesn't look like you can remove the movement but love the fluoro 90s look.

  • Saw it on reddit earlier this week and meant to post here. Love the solution for both extracting and turning the crown with the existing hardware.

Would happily rock one of those if he sold them but he commented on Reddit that it took him 3 months to make this one.

  • Wow! Thanks for the advice everyone. Amazing forum. I’ll do some research and report back.

  • It's probably just a matter of time, although GS have tended towards doing stuff that's inspired by their classic designs rather than out-and-out reissues, at least since the trio of 55th anniversary reissues (SBGW047, SBGR095, SBGV009). Those were 10 years ago and they haven't done a proper/accurate 44GS reissue since.

They do occasionally still roll out the VFA moniker for special occasions, eg the SBGH265 from 2018. Adjusted to -1/+3 s/d.

  • The bit where he put the whole movement up against the belt sander to make the baseplate a bit smaller gave me anxiety though. "It's alright, I taped it up"

  • It's definitely not what you would see at the GS servicing department...

  • The old 5 in the shield looks so much better than the wonky 5 in my view.

  • Disappointing I really like that one. It’s got the tides on it right?

  • PRX Friday today

  • Sbgh265…

Completely missed that they did this although not surprised - it was limited to 20 pieces and a $53K rrp!
Agree that it would be odd for GS to full homage but I wouldn’t say never.

  • That orange one is pretty banging. Wish the crown was in the right place on these though

  • Happy Friday ☀️

  • Where's the crown on the second one?

  • Gold watches for the sunshine surely. Dug this out for a change . Proper old with a funky bumper movement that you can feel charging up.
