Alright fella, keep your hair on
It’s a nice bike and with some nice components but with unattributed modifications (which are tricky to judge from the image attached) and the market here is for helping cyclists and not profiteering, so your going to catch a lot of shade over-estimating what you think you’re investment is worth
Maybe give a bit more detail on the modifications and have a think about what you’d want to pay (and sunk cost fallacy - lots of people on here {me included} invest hard earned cash on ‘bikes and bits are worth so much more’)

If it was a Paul Sadoff built lobster then it would be worth more but it isn’t so it’s not
-
• #31
I did and it wasn’t an offer but an observation . Mega spacer stack may put potential purchasers off

Make an offer or keep quiet @Retro_Bastard

Trust me @crossedthread I am loosing out substantially already on what I originally payed for it, I'm not asking for unreasonable profit, you are all bike people here, you know what things cost so please save the insults, almost all parts are brand new and most are pretty high end, so lets not take the piss.

Either this thread is a clever wind up, or I fear the OP will have a short, but entertaining, LFGSS selling career.

No mate you can get fucked this is without a doubt one of the goofiest looking bikes I've ever seen I'm struggling to think of ways you could make it look any worse I'd be embarrassed to ride it for free. The frame looks fucked the build is just wierd your asking 1300 quid which is 3x what it's worth as a full bike in fact it's not even a full bike as your not even including the ratty seat post plus it's listed on other sites. This one truely is a pantheon level piss take. I'm not sure if you're a thin skinned grifter or just mental
EDIT: This is a really nice bike and worth every penny of the very reasonable asking price I can't believe it hasn't sold already

Rear hub: Onyx Boost CL XD-148/12mm (£525)
how does this work on a QR frame with most likely 135mm OLD and a Shimano (Microspline?) cassette?

Yawn @Retro_Bastard

• #40
oh I totally believe that, merely suggesting that you doublecheck your specs, as that's obviously incorrect.

this thread is going exactly the way everyone expected it to go

when selling complete bikes it’s not about what you’re losing but what people are willing to pay.
you’re selling some odd expensive bits as parts of a rather questionable build, which makes them significantly less covetable. a person on the market for an onyx rear hub isn’t primarily looking to get one attached to random (and potentially misinstalled) junk.
£400 isn’t too far off for what you’d get through an ebay auction. this reflects the real value of the bike in the current composition, not the cumulative price of the individual parts. definitely not £800 and even less what you’re asking. in this case it’d make sense to even pay a bike shop to take it apart and list the parts separately on ebay.
people are taking the piss because you’re clearly failing to understand how the used bikes market works. this is not an uncommon thing to happen on a bike forum full of knowledgeable enthusiasts.

Ahhh knowledgable enthusiasts, my mistake.

Because of a £400 service and an £80 hand built wheel made, I agree that this is worth £1400 of anybody’s money. Otherwise £920. Because the new owner should rightly pay for your costs. You don’t want to loose out those costs should be there’s. Don’t listen to the grannies on here, it’s hella badass bike just with a few scratches. You even improved it with rack mountings. Like the new geometry your fork has given it, perfect for road touring bikepacking gravel duties. If I didn’t already have an 853 MTB with touring tyres and fork built up I’d be very interested.

This has got to be a wind up, no one in the real world is this cartoonishly stupid

I was fully ready to pay the asking price for this, until I saw that the Quadlock isn't included

This is the perfect way to start a Friday! Usual policy when in a hole is to stop digging - I would have thought the responses you got on Retrobike might have tipped you off, but God loves a trier.

Waiting for the 'this is now sold' flounce.
