  • Yo hive mind.
I love my bullitt. I ride it pretty much every commute. 10km loop. 50% road/50% forest track up to the yard. I have a couple valleys in the Cotswolds to climb up, I have my work dog up front for the B-roads. As some of the OS know I've got some health conditions. I'm considering a bafang mid drive so that I can take some of the fatigue out of the last few commutes of the week and to make the bike more usually generally.
I've scrolled back and forth on the thread and noted some of the resources and what others have done. There's some really good stuff on here - as always!

I'm wondering before I go ahead and buy whether there's anything anyone would advise/suggest I take into account, any good deals out there your already aware of, any considerations I should bare in mind - even if it's bait I'd be happy to hear them. Sometimes the most obvious things is what you overlook right.

I'm considering a BBS02. Power for the hills but generally I can keep it on low and just use it when I need to. This feels fairly standard for a cargo. I toyed with a 250w choice but I've got concerns about resell and under powering when moving up hill with weight. Wondering if general opinion is similar.

    Cheers for any advice.

  • Speaking as someone who has recently installed one, so not a long term review

Installation: piece of piss. If you can remove and install a bottom bracket then you should be laughing. Different frames present different challenges so ymmv.

Power: go big or go home. My bike is heavy, my kids are heavy, all our stuff is heavy. I went for a 750w motor and I have no regrets, and expect if I’d downsized I would be kicking myself.

Long term I’ve got to say I’ve not got the impression of a product that’s going to last for ever, but short term I’m having so much fun I dgaf.

My bafangs been very durable. In about 10000km I've replaced the display only. The speed sensor broke pretty early on but I tend to use it as assist in lower power levels so I've done without it. I think it's in need of a service now but the motors themselves are pretty tough I think.
