Asking for a vegetarian friend, need a birthday date night vegetarian, or vegetarian heavy menu for a couple, south london, clapham, Brixton, camberwell/peckham sides.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.. -

Where’s good in Waterloo? Looking for something a bit smarter than casual-dining but not crushingly expensive - around the £20 per main course mark, any cuisine really. Cheers.

Skylon is good, and great view of Thames.

The Anchor and Hope. Looks like you can even book nowadays.

I second this, great food, very attentive and helpful staff.

Love Anchor & Hope, Skylon looks lovely too. Thanks all.

I reckon £20 main course is baseline now!

You still looking? My sister still lives there and I need to call her this evening about going up next week. Can ask for recommendations.
-
• #1760
Yeah pls.
La storia is winning but there’s a vote for iberico.Plan is within a non crazy distance of the city centre, west bridge ford is good I think.

Cool. Calling her back in a bit. I remember Iberico being good. Escabeche* in Bridgford, if it’s still there, was alright for us and fine for my unadventurous mother also (but last time I was there was a good few years ago).
*disclosure - I also just remembered this is run by a couple of lads I went to school with, who also run Perkins in Keyworth

Nearer Derby - the Boot Inn at Repton?
She’s asking a mate who lives in Bridgford
-
• #1763
Perkins is somewhere I wanted to go but got nixed because of distance.

I was just going to suggest Salon in Brixton but saw it's sadly just closed. Levan, its sister restaurant is great and still open in Peckham with lots of veggie choices. I'm vegetarian and have always enjoyed Kudu even if it looks more meat heavy.

Thanks, hadn’t even thought of salon, and am equally bummed about its closure, took now wife there for a valentines dinner a few years back and enjoyed being there.

Anyone know if Monty’s got reborn in any facility? I miss it.

Very late reply but Kolamba is really great, can recommend it too.

Not that I’m aware of. However Owen Barratt (one half of the duo behind Monty’s) is setting up a meat curing business in frome https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/14572238
He might be persuaded to resurrect the pastrami/salt beef? -

In Birmingham for 3 days this week with a 6 year old for a nearby wedding. I would personally do a desi pub crawl followed by a drive through at the Seafood Cartel but both of those options seem rife with risk if I'm attending a wedding the next day.
We're staying Aston/Eastside way. Anything tasty nearby? Ideally a few options like some kind of food hall so we can see and make a decision rather than turning up it being obviously not right. Thinking for a 6 year old (quick service, plenty of room, small menu etc).

Couldn't find this on the menu tonight but a great shout either way!
That is also good but Kaffa has my heart.
