Cheers for all the suggestions. Pizza oven has pretty thin legs which is why I didn't want slats but I guess something with bigger slats and smaller slats may do the job. Does involve more cutting/sanding/varnishing time than just a big chunk though.
I had a bit of a look at FB marketplace and Gumtree but it's a bit of a faff with loads of free or cheap ones just being adverts for companies. Will keep half an eye out to see what comes up though.
It's getting to the point where cost/time is edging me towards just buying a new table though which is what I was trying to avoid.
