Goodyear Eagle F1s have done me well as a pretty-fast-but-not-too-fragile tyre. Running them tubeless tbf, but no complaints. Not quite as quick as a GP5000 or similar, but definitely not slow, and they seem pretty hardwearing as well.

My 8 year old Grand Bois tyres are way past their best, I really need to replace them.
What’s the go-to 650b x 42c tyre for road and light off road?
The cheaper the better, not fussed about tubeless compatibility.
Currently running Gumwalls, but not opposed to all black tyres.
Thanks in advance!

Anyone tried the best endurance tyre ever made?

I've got a lot of use out of my Cinturato M 50mm. It was installed as a front tyre but when we rode An Turas I moved it to the back to allow some mud clearance. It got one flat on the road at the end of An Turas but none on any of the gravel. Still using it as as rear tyre now - did most of 7S route and some extra and no issues.
As a emotionless robot I am in the camp of "there's no such thing as tyre feel, you're just slow, so stop your nonsense and get pedaling"
The missus had no issues with her Sendero 47mm front and rear during 7S. I was a bit jealous of the grip she had (mostly while lying in the grass having shot sideways across some muddy track - wtf is mud anyway)

Not sure about 42mm but I like the Hutchinson Touareg 650x47 in most situations except slippery mud. I paid £33 for mine. They're kinda dark tanwall although it's hard to see on mine as they're covered in dried mud.

Schwalbe Duranos is 28 are my go to. Good grip on road in all seasons and can handle dirt/gravel as well.

Duranos are good for me too, a bit on the heavy sluggish side but better than wire bead and heavier tyres down the price range

I put 000s of miles in to Durano and Durano Plus tyres when training for 24hrs. I moved to the lighter/faster ones because I didn't like how the Durano Plus would square off after a lot of use (and I got a bit less ragey with flats)

Has anyone ridden the new GP5000AS TR? I’m wondering how it compares to the GP5000S TR in real world terms. Internet says - slightly heavier and slightly more rolling resistance but better puncture protection and better grip in the wetz

Not sure anyone can afford it in the UK!

Anyone bought and fitted Cinturato Velos recently? I've been running them for a couple of years without issues, but fitted one last night which was a massive struggle to get onto the rim (same rim had fitted the same model without issues previously). The bead seemed materially tighter so wondering if they've changed the spec or build-up? Wouldn't fancy getting this on/off on the roadside tbh

Think they have possibly moved production in house?
From what I understood, Pirelli were previously having their bike tyres made by Hutchinson. -

The 32c Power Road tubeless on my Stigmata (road build) have finally worn out and are now discontinued. They've been pretty flawless until now. I've got a pair of Rene Herse Bon Jon Pass standard casing I bought a couple of years back and yet to use.
Getting mixed messages on the internet about these... Are they just for insta? Am I going to have lots of issues running these tubeless on quite rough lanes around here or will they be a #supplelife revelation?
Should I just sell them and get something more 'modern'? If so, what?

Is there a nice 28mm tyre option that comes in tan wall, to run with tubes? Any improvement on Paselas? Without going all the way (cost wise) to like Vittoria corsa controls?
-
• #9822
"Is there a nice tyre option that comes in tan wall" No. No nice tyres are tan wall.
Saying that, do they still make Spesh Turbo Cotton?
-
• #9823
Yes, but Corsas are almost half the price and a lot more durable.
Also, Veloflex -

@French_Touch not particularly enamoured with the BJP here
I've always liked Schwalbe Pro One as a good all round tyre
