  • Yama is great. With that said, I did actually sell my Cirriform. Mostly because of pitch size and how many stakes are required. It was so easy to get a really, really taught pitch that would hold up to high winds (from experience, not just internet hyperbole), but it took 10 stakes... for a tarp!

Also, this summer in the Sierra is going to probably be the buggiest on record and while I'm okay in a bug bivy, I'd really much rather have the space of a proper tent if I'm sitting for a few hours in the evening, so my pack is going to get a bit heavier and I'm going to buy a Double Rainbow and live in a life of luxury.

@skinny you are way too tall to use a Pocket Tarp I'm afraid. FYI MLD are now using SilPoly across the board outside of the Supermid.

Another option is the Liteway PyraOmm solo. SilPoly, cheaper than MLD, available immediately, Ukraine based: https://liteway.equipment/shelters/pyraomm-solo/pyraomm-solo-tarp

  • Thanks mate. Is it silpoly I want?

Reviews say 175cm max. I'll try find their dimensions and compare as I'm 186.
