Lock-on grips for for comfort but also not making my hands go all minging

My town bike currently has some hard plastic grips. I'd like to swap these out for some more comfy ones. The only other grips I've had in my life are DMR deathgrips (pretty comfy but come in a round profile only) and Ergon grips (for use with a rohloff shifter). The Ergon ones are comfy but I've found that they can really wear during use and my hands can end up covered in rubber after a day of work. So what I'm looking for is the non shredding qualities of DMR with the comfy 'ergo' profile of the ergon grips (pictured). Suggestions welcome.
Ideally not costing a fortune either.

There's the more MTB ergon ga2. Mine don't desintegrate, but not that old and only used with gloves.
Meaning to try sqlab ones next.

I wonder if the cork ergons disintegrate less than the rubber ones?

I'll have to have a look in on that, they're probably spendy but what can you do.

I've been recommended the lifeline ergo grips, apparently they don't wear apart too badly so I reckon I'll give them a crack and see what happens

Never tried it on lock-on grips - but can you wrap them in thin bar tape?

Yeah I've thought that, part of the appeal of lock on grips is they let you dial the width of the bars a bit too.

They do, but they still wear.

My advice would be gloves - keep the hand sweat and oils off the grip as much as possible.

Yeah I wear gloves most of the time when working (but only fingerless ones because I have to use a phone), just want to not have to wear more cycle stuff than I have when I'm just nipping around the place ya know

I had some of these and they weren't great! The rubber feels very different to Ergon and they generally feel much cheaper (which they are).

Oh dear, well thankfully I've not ordered them yet so I'll give them a miss. Will have a read around some cork options

I have the cork ones and don't seem to get dirty hands.
