I had a piece of flying black plastic smack my windscreen on the motorway yesterday, which was a bit of a surprise...
However, on arrival at my destination, it turns out this was the plastic grille insert from the front of my '59 E90 that had bounced across the bonnet and off the windscreen.
Easy enough to get a new one slapped in, but the check engine lights also come on. I don't have a codereader at the minute (one on the way), but does it seem plausible that the light would just be for a missing bit of trim? I can't see any sensors around the grille.
Wondering whether it'll be ok to drive in the meantime.
