I'd rather avoid more expenses, have not established yet if I've made a good investment. Had further info from the seller, it should be rideable (though not electrically assisted) as it is, with minor maintenance I could do on the spot... Then it will be a hell of a ride home. It comes with original non electric rear wheel, which I'll try to use if I can (want to believe I can manage without electric assist for now, probably I'm being naive, but...)

Where/how are people mounting a Dynamo front light to the front of an Omnium cargo max? Fork mount? Strapped to the rack? A.n.other? Don’t have a tap, and it doesn’t look like the drain hole at the front the the rack brace is already tapped

I mounted mine to the steering arm bolt / nut

Maybe get a few mates together and make cafe/pub/takeaway ride of it? Even one extra pair of legs would make it easier if you took turns. There is plenty of space for refreshments after all.

Oh interesting. Not seen that location before. Doesn’t the wheel block half the light onto the road?
-

The stock set-up is with the Supernova handlebar bracket mounted to the main rack, with the light underneath.

Doesn’t bother me, not like I need to see the road in the city. you could play around with position if you want it to be less obstructed.. And I like the light moving with the steering :)

Floating this here before making a full blown advert in classifieds.
Probably going to be moving on the Omnium Mini-Max WiFi by the end of June.
The novelty / practicality of storing it in the apartment, up two flights of stairs, is really starting to wear thin.
It’s main purpose of being a get-the-dog-out-to-the-forest facilitator has also proved somewhat impractical as an overexcitable 30kg Labrador that can’t sit still for a second is relatively difficult cargo.

If you're prepared to spend almost the whole day/go walking pace, and there's air in the tires etc, you'll probably even have fun.

Ah that’s what I’d seen on the socials and couldn’t make out. Thanks!

Yeah that’s why I was wondering if there was a fork crown mounted option vs rack mount. I’m not city based so need the throw either side (else there’s likely be be some very unhappy bunny’s on the side of the road)

I'm owned a day off at work this week, so this (as well as @Chaley 's idea) would have been perfect, except seller can only meet after 6pm, so this becomes an evening/night ride, through a likely grim route... Hence me wondering about the lazy way with the car. Will further think about it all. Thanks for all the input peeps.

Na, after 6pm probably won't make it a fun trip.

Could’ve swapped you a lovely armchair for it! 😅
-
• #11591
Haha - I often wonder about the offer of swaps, but the likelihood of finding just what you need in exchange is very slim!

Could you hire a van? Or not worth it?

Been mentioned above... Unsure if it worth it at this time.

Just take spanners and straps and take it apart until it fits in the car. I’ve done Wembley to Beckenham a couple of times on a normal bike and it’s not the nicest or the easiest route. You’ve got Crystal Palace to get up and over and you’re going to want all the gears to do that.

Thanks for this... Not too worried about Crystal Palace as its relatively short so with case scenario I could walk it. But that the test is a bit meh makes new consider the car more and more... Taking stuff appart etc... I'll all seller a couple of key dimensions and we'll see

.. may I ask, what does the the dog sit in? And could you fit a 7 year old kid in it..? :)
-
• #11598
I have comfortably fit a 35yo woman on it and ridden about 30km round trip!
Similarly, the dog sits on the front rack, with the aid of the ‘Hundebar’ extension from Sentient Works/Paradise Cycles which is an anchor for a collar harness.
If I had a child I would likely construct a seat of some sort or similarly put a harness on them and strap them in.

Hmm what's a ballpark price on one of these? Trying to work out if one is worth it as a kid carrier or if I need something bigger....
Zipvan?
