it's specced with a dropper because i will be using it like a balance bike

out with the quick release and rim brakes, in with the thru axel and disc brakes.
We've strayed away from the cutting edge of boost and TA, instead relying on standard spacing an IS mounts
have I read this too fast or is does this not compute?
‘TA’ should probably be ‘flat mount’.
OT: Awesome project, awesome copy.

12mm TA 100/142mm and 160mm post mount front and rear is the plan as far as I am concerned.
These are still just sketches

This already looks good. Are you gonna 3d print the dropouts
-
• #3081
Nope. I am afraid the budget doesn't cover Magic Beans. But these Alotech C40s are great so not a problem.

Moomin themed butt plugs?

you should be prouder of your national exports https://arhoj.com/
(also reader, never stick anything up your butt which does not have a flared base, you'll never win)

I know what it is. I was just kidding.
Flared base > flared bars

thoroughly enjoying this henry wildeberry vs. john fitz dialectic.
the real question is though, will the tubeset be 853? 🤔

Mostly zona I am afraid

A slight curve on the rear caliper strut. This, pleases me

Out of interest, how much extra would magic bean dropouts run too?
(Forum whip round, this bike deserves/demands magic beans). -

Probably x3 as much if the cheaper BASF cured style like on Tijmens and probably x10 if sintered. But I havent looked into it yet.
On top of that is the extra money for having it silver brazed rather than fillet brazedI will sketch it up with some beans and see what Maj says

Fun project and collaboration!
Just wondering if it doesn't make more sense to go for 27.5"? It will give you more tyre and rim options, especially in the future. -

Just wondering if it doesn't make more sense
You must be new here

Isn’t 29” the future?
-

Isn't the whole point of custom that you can have what you want? (If you can afford it)
-
• #3097
Yes of course just curious what the reasoning behind it is.

Sometimes having less options makes life easier ?
But honestly it sometimes is nice with a smaller bike. My wife has benefited massively from shorter wheelbase, overall lighter build and bigger tires while avoiding toe overlap -

Makes sense:)

If people see you with 27.5 wheels they might avoid you because they assume you have opinions about wheel size optimisation, they don’t want to risk ending up in a long conversation about rolling resistance and roll over trade off vs rotational weight
If you have 26” wheels they just assume you’re cool, beautiful and VERY funny
You can get 10 speed XTR for next to nothing these days!
Very very up my street this is.
Dis gone be good
