Thats great in orange, makes it look like a piece of machinery.

Ha! Well now I've nearly got a construction company with two huge orange bits of machinery:

Oh nice. I had orange bikes in the past, but unlike yours the colour was the best part...
My reference in Berlin is as utilitarian as it gets:

does it or does it not mean 'I am a donut'?
-
• #27331
Pfannkuchen!

• #27332
You are a doughnut.

Ok I wikipedia'd it and apparently it was just JFK's Bahstin accent (and some apocryphal reporting) that circulated the misconception
-

It can be both, like Wiener is a sausage and a person from Vienna. Or Frankfurter or Hamburger etc.

Yes.
It's a joke on the JFK speech and the whole donut thing. We have really fun pr people here!!!
A jam filled donut is a Berliner everywhere, but in Berlin it's a Pfannkuchen.
But then a Pfannkuchen is a pancake and so on.I just go to the expensive vegan donut place nowadays because I got grumbled at more than once when my south German/swiss past got obvious.

I was just told that in Hessen those delicious things are called Kreppel.
Sounds almost like gravel, and we are back on topic, maybe? -
• #27341
I was always confused that a Berliner was just a Krapfen/Donut and pretty sure I remembered a different shaped pastry under that name. Turns out that was an American/Amerikaner.

Came for the gravel, stayed for the German baked goods chat 👍

There's also the German speciality called "Sandkuchen" but I guess that's for the beach racing type.

No gravel in Norfolk.

Back to the quest for a London-Brighton offroad route, specifically EAST of the A23, any suggestion other than the SSX mystery tour variations?
Working on a London-Brighton-London offroad big day project

I have no idea how much of it is actual grav-grav or even off road but this looks like a good starter to hang some investigations onto.

big day
Riding right through to 2pm?
-
• #27350
Starting at 4am for sure
No idea, bought it like that (didn't notice when I paid). I assume it went in, they plugged it and the pressure pushed it out?!
