I have a case of plantar fasciitis and my wife bought me some soft insoles online. They came with the same "stepping on shit feeling" which she shared on her work whatsapp for the lols. Apparently, this is a direct translation of a genuine Chinese phrase for soft underfoot.
Makes me smile every time I wear the insoles though :)

I had it for years. It's not called policeman's heel for nothing. I also had weirdly high arches. Miserable but I found the best thing for me was standing on the edge of the stairs with the balls of my feet and letting my heels slowly drop below my toes. Effectively stretching the Achilles. It's a nice pain but makes your heel a lot better, eventually.

A case of a policeman’s plantar fasciitis can be a drop from heel to toe, won?
Apologies -

You seemed to have a lot of the right words but not in an order I am familiar with.

Had it for years too. Stretching did the job for me. The heel drop work well but I found doing the backs of my thighs was also a necessity. Touching my toes while concentrating on not arching my back made for a real deep stretch all the way from heel to hip.

Spiky ball under the foot every time I sat down, stretching and a contraption that kept my foot at 90 degrees while sleeping - that sorted out my PF.
Have been able to stop its return by getting another condition which means I can’t run at all anymore. So there’s a result.

Can you send a link to the t contraption? I can't even think what to search for. Thanks!

I’m too bad a sleeper to wear the boot. Mine was a more lo-fi version of this, basically just two connected loops. Beautifully simple.

Quite so
It seemed to scan at the time
Now not so much -

Not heard of that one. Does it cushion the back of the heel? Asking cos sometimes PF causes discomfort there just from the weight of my feet and I have to lie lower in the bed so my heels drop over the end.
