Ok, thanks. I'll check out what are recommended rims over in the orient express thread. DT Swiss hubs sound nice, but isn't there a decent forum recommended version like Novatecs or something?

The "or something" includes Formula and KT equivalents, plus the house brand hubs like Halo which are made by one of those three Taiwanese factories. Just get whichever is on offer (which is usually Novatec). You can go bling with Campag/DuraAce/DT but you're not getting any functional advantage.

Ah yes, I thought there are some other makes of hubs like the Novatecs. Thanks. BTW, no danger of me going bling - just looking for a decent and functional pair of track wheels that won't break the bank and wondering aloud whether building my own could work.
