Madness turned into utility. I did not expect how comfortable it is to ride risers on a road bike. Still need to decide which front ring will go. I rather keep it 1x for easier maintenance. Rapid-fire shifters were unexpectedly easy to set up, took like 15min, even for such a noob like me.

Still need to source offset seatpost for it and some 25/28c tires, pending what will fit. The current 22c(!) in the back is just so much against the new nature of this bike. Probably will add second layer of bartape as I'm anti-grips. 60cm wide bars + 15cm stem is a completely new sensation.

Might be me? I resurrected a Vernon Barker tandem. I also built a Vernon Barker MGOOF. It was just by chance that both frames were VB.

I'll need to sell the Vernon Barker Columbus Neuron frame soon as it's slightly too tall for me, after all that. The close-up picture best shows the fluoro paint colours.

If you can get in contact with them through their eBay store, Bike Punx have done 94 BCD 5-bolt chainrings before. Their website appears to have disappeared though.

Finished building up my Marco Lietti 88/89 Bottecchia frame from a few pages back. Here is the man himself looking like Napolean Dynamite's cool Italian cousin.

I've kitted it with mostly 20 speed Campag Chorus, and the classic Mavic Starfish crankset as a nod to 89. I've had to fit mine with Stronglight rings for 10 speed chain as the original 8 speed rings were too fat. 3T bars and stem, Record FD and brakes, Record hubs laced with Ambrosio Excellence rims and 28c Turbo Cotton tyres.


Super chuffed to have found a original red Elite bottle cage to match the white one that came with the frame, and love these cranks all shined up in the sunshine.

And as the sun was out I had to give it a quick pic with some classic Shamals :)

On the subject of Bottecchia. I changed the contact points on mine as I didn‘t get on with the brooks and the 44cm Nitto bars. Went with a longer stem and my go-to 40cm deda piegas and the fit is vastly improved. The saddle is an old Selle Ideale 2002 with titanium rails - quite comfy thanks to the flexy shell and it fits the rando vibe of the bike.

Bowman Palace R, started as a spare / old / cheap part crit bike and ended up sanding it down half arsedly, going with a big cassette and having it as a travel bike for chucking about in France / Spain. Pretty fun, might spray the forks.

Quick parts bin build. Was thinking of turning it into a sweet fixie, it's nice that it clears these 35c tyres easily but the frame is incredibly flexy
