Cages all look the same to me.
Yea stayed upright even though I was skidding with a rear bumper in my wheel for 20 yards.
Muscle memory from green lanes I guess; didn't mentally process what was happening until I stopped, but just did everything like on the lanes when losing grip or stalling out.
Neck is already aching a bit. Guess I need to go Urgent Care and sit for hours to get assessed.

Yes, do so immediately.

Call a bike lawyer - get a decent payout!

called mcams, as they come well-recommended based on what I've seen pass through the local mechanics. wait at urgent care was over 4 hours, but since I was only achey and not dying, will go back tomorrow instead to be checked over.

• #23332
Good job, glad you're OK.
-
• #23333
Go to hospital do not pass go do not collect £200. Get checked out. Shock covers alot, please have someone with you in case.
Probably nothing serious but not worth risking. Also didn't the myopic cunt see you?
-
• #23334
Sorry to see that. Looks really bad.
Hope you are physically ok and you get decent compensation.
Well done staying upright.

Long story short it was in a 20 zone and she kept chasing me down, I had her try dangerously overtaking me a few times, and she still went for it… and on her last attempt she succeeded in mounting my rear wheel.

Not to be a cunt but it's a good learning opportunity huh. What could I have done differently to avoid this situation. I hope you do a debrief.
How's the bike? Write of or fixable?
-
• #23337
Having been hit by cars on the pushbikes, I thought I’d got that learning done.
Been replaying it over and over. There is always something different you can do, but doesn’t change that it happened already.
-
• #23338
Indeed. And no fault or blame. Since picking up skiing I spent a lot of time doing debriefs and now use it elsewhere, to learn from near misses and worse.
Perhaps pulling in and letting the idiot pass is a take away. And or not trying to stop them.
I had a similar situation in a car, in a 20, idiot was trying to pass me and driving so close. I got in his way to stop him passing. He then started following me. I then stopped to let him pass, he then got out his car with a knife. Thankfully I sped off and lost him. I now just either stop and let idiots go or do nothing to agitate them.
I'm sorry for you and your bike, it's shit.
-
• #23339
As I remember, I only didn’t let her pass because it would have forced me into a parked car or a kerb. It was holding a lane not a blocking being a cunt.
-
• #23340
Really sucks. Hope you don't have lasting injures.
-
• #23341
Properly shit outcome that. Driver of the car sounds like a complete cunt.
Definitely make sure you're checked out ASAP and any injuries / pains logged. Never know how you're going to feel once your body relaxes a bit.
New bike day though... nice.

• #23342
As I play it over, I think she tried to undertake me at one point.
-
• #23343
Very sorry to see this and hope you're alright. Well played staying up and keeping your cool when you got off
-
• #23344
Make her pay. Insurance should be rinsing someone like that.

Residential area, check
Low speed limit street, check
Parked cars, kids, dogs and other things in the road, check
Dafty driving like a twat for no apparent reason, probably also on the pta
-
• #23346
Vauxhall drivers make me look twice and modify accordingly. Always seems to be more likely to be driven like a twat.
-
• #23347
This all sounds certifiably nuts. Can't imagine this sort of aggression in street traffic.
-
• #23348
Bit late but just seen this. Hope the body is holding up and like others have said bikes are always replaceable. Well done for staying upright, all things considered that's quite amazing considering the damage.

Three years of green lanes, practicing how not to fall when the ground moves under you...

So sorry to hear about this. How's your neck today? Hugs and well wishes from here.
Shit. You stay upright? Keep an eye on your neck and back!
It’s an Astra btw
