Fill and paint the front, keep the binding and natural back and sides? Or just paint the whole thing, it'll look ace. I think painted Thinlines look brilliant, black wins for me.

Paint the front and leave the rest natural was always my go to when daydreaming about future builds on the warmoth website. Best of both worlds right?

It would solve some of @Nahguavkire's problems. Or how about red front and black back and sides?!? Personally, I'd go gold front and silver back and sides because it's a bit mental and I've never seen it anywhere before. But then again I'm completely OBSESSED with gold Fenders at the moment. Probably best to ignore me. 😘

I had previously goldtopped this one but not done a great job of it to be honest... it was a nice vibe though!
I did toy with the idea of Dakota Red front and Shell Pink back and sides but I'm not sure if I should just paint it black or white, I know it'll look good!

An old friend has a '69 Thinline in factory black, it's one of my favourite guitars ever. He's had a tort guard on it in recent years which I hate, it originally had a white guard, it was so fucking beautiful. Black!!
Here's a super unflattering picture of guitar and owner. I've got one of his old guitars, if he ever asks for it back I'm gonna want that Tele as a swap.

Oh that looks like a proper beater in the best way possible!
I would love a '69 Thinline alright! -

I'm currently lusting after this ex-Walter Becker Gretsch TK-300...

Wild!

I very very nearly bought one of those from Andy at Angel Music about 10+ years ago... it looked amazing but in the hand the neck felt SO thin and narrow, worse than a 3/4 Ricky. It wouldn't work and I had to step away feeling tragic.
The stock humbuckers may have been DiMarzios at the time, same as my long-lost pink Broadkaster.
*wrong, all the hardware was Japanese

That's a shame, it doesn't look that thin in the photo @Nahguavkire posted. Thinner than a 70s Fender neck even?

Well that's how the one I tried seemed at the time... but they are extremely cool. Such a weird time for Gretsch to go wonky Jetsons in design when every other maker was moving towards slick and posh.
I would love an ex-Becker guitar. Remember looking at the Juliens auction - he had stashed away multiples of everything, bonkers...

Steely Dan were a weird bunch, eh? I've never been a fan, too clever for me. 🥸
Thought I'd mention I've accidentally become a bit of a Univibe fan. I've always loved the effect in the hands of Jimi, obvs, but never really considered it for myself.
A while back I was going through the presets on my Zoom MultiStomp and stopped to do a few late era Jimi impressions with The Vibe setting, lots of fun, etc. Messing around with the controls I set them so the effect was there but only just, and it sounded really great.
Reminded me of Chris Bell's guitar sound on I Am The Cosmos, adds a swelling richness to whatever you're doing. Who knew?? Great for poppy arpeggios and languid lead licks.
Anyway, as you were!

I love that Echobrain. The crunchiest, grottiest, most lo fi bucket brigade out there. I'm sure it's brilliant on a retro rig but it pairs incredibly with one of those high end reverb / delay units. Going into a Strymon it gives an amazing texture.

I picked up a great condition Fender Champion 20 amp about 18 months ago for £40 on FB marketplace, it sat around not doing much so I traded it in at Gear4music for £67 and used the credit to get something else. They now have it at just under £120 on their website but I’m happy, I made £30 for not much effort. It will be interesting if they are able to sell it for that, when I bought it the guy had it listed for several weeks before I picked it up and if I’d listed it myself I would not have asked much more than £60.

Love my UniVibe. Try it first in the chain. Def works for #1 Record errr vibes

I'd never even considered there was univibe on #1 Record but Ballad Of El Goodo is totally vibetastic. I've been listening to that record for almost forty years and never noticed. Now I feel stoopid.

Heh! It’s the secret sauce! I used to think I didn’t like any modulation effects but gradually accepted that loads of my fave records from the 70s, 80s and 90s have guitars with subtle chorus, phaser and vibe on them. Still, can’t bring myself to put a chorus on a board tho!

The Mexican Gold Tele has been hipsterised, it'll be back in my hands this time next week, then off for a setup with my regular tech guy. Such excite!
Check out the customer on the guitar next to mine. 🤣🤘

My daughter got given this but struggling to get it to work. The led in the middle button is never lighting up.
Not sure if it's an operation error or circuitry

You have it plugged in to a power supply? Is the power supply the correct voltage?
glue a pick holder over the hole!
