I am a cycle courier, I spend all day getting screamed at and yelled at by bullies who think theyve got an easy and vulnerable target, just like the 'gender criticals' do with trans people as they have in this thread. it doesn't bother me there and nor does it here. One bully is the same as the next to me.

Ha!
I saved those for leith hill. -

You're missing the point again. In his analogy: You're the shouting parent. We're the children. But we can't get our opportunity to learn because you're too loud.

Can you point to those who are gender critical in this thread? Because maybe I’m missing something and would like to know where I’m going wrong from my cis white hetero position.
And then perhaps, rather than shouting at me, give me some possible racing situations/comp sport situations which might be more fair.
My background, while not working class, has still exposed me to bullies and toxic environments.

This charmer who seems to view trans women (which I'm not one) as fraudulent men in dresses chasing women's cat c race podiums for one.
I've had enough of this so will leave you fine gents to your evenings high fiving about who can make the funniest joke about giving a shit about other people.

Top parenting right there!

You’ve played this note for note.
Steam in, shout, call someone a Nazi, throw stuff, then stomp off when people actually engage. -
• #534
I think that would probably become inflammatory and not helpful very quickly.
Cis men poking around at this “trying to understand” or “trying to defend” probably aren’t what’s needed.
Maybe cis women saying what they’re worried about and trans women saying what they’re worried about, and what they both need and want is probably the best thing right?

then I am doubtful whether my posts in this forum will sway you either way.
Well yeah because you came across as a complete asshole.

One bully is the same as the next to me.
I think we have reached peak irony. Although probably unconsciously.

We all have a voice and should use it
We all have eyes and ears too. Sometimes it's better to listen than to speak.

Do you think there are no women here?
It's just not that appealing contributing on here right now as a woman of any sort. I don't enjoy being attacked even if it's 'just' a few words online. I'm watching this thread with a kind of morbid fascination, hesitant to reveal myself.
I would like to point out that this discussion, debate or whatever you want to call or, is not sport for me or other women (not that I speak for all). It's not fun, it's not sport, it's not a game to be won, a tiny battle to dominate, or a chance to show off. It's existential.
I'd also like to point out that this thread is not the battleground for transphobia in sport. It's also not going to solve the lack of support for women's sport. Or misogyny in society. Whoever "wins" this discussion. But it is part of this forum. This forum is a community. Some people are just here to sell something, some people check in 20 times a day and want to chat shit and feel like they belong. And yes, amazingly, women, transgender, non-binary and gender-queer people do exist as a small part of this community. But frankly I understand why only the brave would ever admit to it. (Don't @ me.)

I have, yes, but that's not really the point. And as has been so vividly demonstrated here already, as hominem attacks and personal comments add nothing constructive to any debate.

You could have stuck with the transphobic forum you posted earlier. You know, the one your fellow travellers used to identify and harass thundercrit participants, putting names to faces in photos and sharing instagram handles to dogpile on.

Out of interest are we talking about people who, for the lack of me knowing the correct terminology, have undergone significant hormonal therapy?

Callum’s language and approach is certainly intemperate, and I humbly suggest he’s not going to get a job in PR any time soon.
On the other hand, at least one person in this thread appears to be flat out denying the existence of trans people. Which, and this might just be my own pro-Bolshevik tendencies showing here, seems far worse than a bad case of the rudes.
I don’t really want to contribute to the continuation of this thread, as I think some of the views that have been expressed here are vile and certainly hugely disrespectful - at the very least - to any trans members of the LFGSS community. I will therefore be banging this thread on ignore as of now. I note however that in all of this, no one has mentioned trans men. Seemingly because trans men don’t really feature in the Great Trans Panic. Possibly because the reason people fixate on trans women is because hatred of trans women is simply a further expression of society’s deep rooted misogyny.

I note however that in all of this, no one has mentioned trans men.
I was trying to point this out amongst the mess Callum created several pages back.
-
• #547
Suppose that suits you to think that the problem is discourteous forum use rather than hate mongering transphobes agitating against vulnerable targets.
-
• #548
I believe anyone who has had any hormone therapy to increase testosterone would have to race in the Open category after BC licence renewal.
Anything under ‘GoRace’ (like summer CX) nobody cares.
-
• #549
So yeah, theoretically to race CX all year round some lucky racers may actually be switching categories.
For policy that took a year to cook, it feels a bit half-baked.
-
• #550
I thought you were done with this, stomped off and whatnot?
So since you're still here, would you be open to actually engage and volunteer the suggestions for a policy that BC should implement that would promote better fairness in competition?
I bet you won't but surprise me?
Everyone needs to be called out and then redirected.
A bit like parenting - shouting at wrong behaviour isn’t the best way to sort things out.
