Just got the emails, sizes look great, lug is a gnat on the long side but look nice at that length.

Didn’t know they do an insane amount of homages.
-
• #72305
I didn’t either. Some of them are shockingly bad, like the GMT homages with 24hr bezels but no GMT hand.

I had no idea they had their own ones already. Was under the impression that this was a Massena creation. Basically everything on their website is just utter trash lol

JLC master geographic- is nice, just had a play with one. Chap offered 6% off with close to zero prompting, which was interesting. I think I prefer the gold to the silver though which means second hand

Couple new Smiths for my little collection. First, a 9ct Everest, then a 9ct Deluxe. Both working beautifully. Yet to date them exactly but the Everest is engraved 1964 and the Deluxe likely early 60s too.

You order this drink like you'd do a coffee, caffè macchiato / caffè corretto i.e. The coffee is base ingredient which is always present and therefore used first, the second part is the addition that can differ and makes into that specific combo.
In this case you would order an spritz Aperol or the (less popular) other option, spritz Campari. Spritz in this case refers to the bubbles from the prosecco and sparkling water / soda that's used to make the mix drink together with either Aperol or Campari.
You can easily recognize the difference between the two as the Campari is red vs the orange of the Aperol.

How much of a minefield is buying a strap for an old watch?
Are widths and lengths fairly standard?
-
• #72319
Widths depends on your watch obviously, length is always mentioned in the details.

I'd recommend trying to find a cheap version of the style you want before splashing on a nice one. Aliexpress has a a ton of choice for a few £

Silver watch with a white face so I’m thinking brown leather would be a safe bet.

Nice Everest that
You probably know this, but the 19j movement is shared with the Imperial from the same era, so check the movement number as if 0105 (instead of 0104), I think they are quite rare.

Need a recommendation for somewhere that can deal with a service of a WWII vintage military watch - somewhere really trusted as this is a seriously rare watch with a particular bit of military history attached to it. Any thoughts welcome!

Thanks. I like it too. Serial is 10104E so perhaps not super rare, but it’s in lovely condition and keeps excellent time, so I’m happy.
