• As it says on the tin, looking for brakes with a drop of 55mm, ideally silver.
Looking to upgrade some spongy Condor-branded Tektros.

Bit of a bugger but Shimano BR650 seem to be the ones to go for but sold out everywhere...
TRP RG957 also rated but 2/3 times the price!!

    Any help appreciated, cheers.

  • TRP made by Tektro tho?

  • Interesting, so you don't rate their product anyway?

  • Shimano make both Claris and Dura-Ace?

957s are very good, if you can find a new to you set for c. £100 or so

  • Looking to upgrade some spongy Condor-branded Tektros.

Bit of a bugger but Shimano BR650

I've used both. I don't think the Shimano is much of a performance upgrade. Is it possible you need a new cable?

  • Maybe compressionless brake outers first?

EDIT: Have the same brakes and haven't fitted them yet so am concerned.

  • As an alternative, Miche do some long drop calipers that I have had no issues with on a couple of builds

  • I have a pair of BR-R650s I never ended up using. PM if interested. Thanks

  • If you are thinking of selling the Condor brakes can you let me know as I might have a suitable build in the near future

  • Great minds, was thinking that too

  • Hmm, yes and no - I replaced the rear one recently and didn't notice much difference.

I could also just look to upgrade the pads and see if that helps - maybe the best first port of call.

  • Absolutely will keep you posted.
