Only just catching up on the highlights - the lacklustre delivery suggests it’s now a tired joke but I’ve never heard the Geraint Thomas l “watt’s occurring” commentary line before. I’m ok with never hearing it again.

Jens or McEwan mentioned it on commentary the other day. Fallout from the leaders crash - he has a big gash on his leg apparently.

Maybe I missed the context for this, but at one point Jens Voigt suggested that if the stage finished early Dan Lloyd could "go and climb the walls of Windor Castle"??? I like Jens.

Jens energy is amazing.

Wiggins has always said he's like this and it's what makes him a good GT rider, very little flusters him and he never really gets too emotional and goes absolutely all in.

You can tell he is a good dad. As he has six kids and is a good dad, what we are therefore seeing is about 8% of his total available energy output

Or he's escaping from his kids and is delighted about it!

my OH has a very cursory interest in cycling, pro or otherwise, but there was a stage in maybe 2012/13 where Jens was on a solo breakaway all day and was then tragically caught by the sprint teams within the last 3km – this ensnared her enthusiasm and ever since its been just fine to watch the cycling all the time. I owe Jens so much.

Whilst we're all feeling misty eyed about Jens, remember in 2010 in the TdF when he had to borrow a kids bike to finish the stage?

He's a product of the East German system who started his career in the peak EPO years where just about anyone who won anything (including his teammates) was doping.

Don’t get the Jens love. Would hate to be stuck in a lift with him.

I can see why he’s not for everyone, but he’s a breath of fresh air compared to the other commentators.

One of the best places I’ve ridden and anyone who hasn’t really should add it to their list.
