Well, locks were changed today. Went out briefly afterwards and when I came back saw builder's van parked on the street, but he immediately drove off. Thought he might have been dropping off the keys, but nope. Hopefully he wasn't looking to do anything nefarious - early evening is not peak time for criminal activity, plus he does have a plausible reason to be in the area as he is working on another house close by.
I've taken comprehensive photo/video of the crappy, unfinished work. Am I ok to start putting it right, or should I try and find another fitter to assess/quote for trying to fix things? I did ring a few people earlier in the week, but surprisingly no-one was interested in trying to fix a botched job.
Well. This is where it gets funny. They recommended him to us - I've seen the work he did for them, and it looked good (albeit I did not closely inspect). Not sure why it's gone so badly wrong in our case.
