  • So who's riding the GS down to Euston via Camden? I must've spooked them, because saw the LFGSS sticker (and Fuck Putin) on their top box and gave a chase 🤡

  • Was me. Mentioned up thread….

Sorry I couldn’t hear anything over my headset.

  • I never updated people on that, the few hundred I raised on those stickers went to the Blue Cross Ukraine appeal to help animals in the conflict.

  • Third time lucky on the test for me. That was the practical bit though. The first one irked to say the least.

  • Nice, congratulations!

That's a proper hoard on that trailer. I wish you lot would stop looting the US of it's precious two strokes and running up the prices, though. There's not enough to go around as it is!

  • I failed mod 2 first time, my retest was booked for the day after we went into lockdown. Cue 6 months of torture before I had the rebook.

  • Was the stupid battery. Surprising being so not old. But I guess it did a lot of sitting on the dealer floor for a while.

  • Nice! Sorry, I know. Can't hear much either. I just didn't want you to think that I was looking for trouble. Nobody needs more anxiety than the streets already give us.

  • Yeah one thing I have learned by now is - if it sounds like it could be the battery, it's the bloody battery. No matter how old or young it is. Even if the battery is theoretically new it is still likely to be the battery rather than anything else.

Of course, there is then the chance of something else being the cause for the battery going flat so quickly, like a broken reg/rec system or something. But in general, replace the battery and ride on.

  • Revzilla did a shop manual vid recently on checking if your battery is dead, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OiYzmVhgm2s

  • Monthly “anyone want my CBR600?” post. Be seeing you next month.

  • Blast from the past here. Makes me wonder what the TT will look like in 2073.

  • Makes me think of my favourite picture ever… My dad living the dream.

He spent every penny of his meagre income keeping this thing running, an ex-factory TZ350.

He used take the fairing off to squeeze it into the back of a clapped out Bedford HA van.

  • Wish my family photos were this awesome, I'd have that blown up and framed.

  • What a fantastically cool photo! Yellow leathers and orange helmet are very spicy indeed and that TZ350 looks incredible, is it still in the family?

I got around to fitting the Rizoma bars, risers, grips and mirrors my Dad had bought for his Scrambler yesterday and took it home last night. What a great improvement over the stock bars!

  • Epic photo. Wouldn't have looked out of place in that documentary for sure. I agree with @jambon, that deserves to be framed on the mantlepiece.

  • That's awesome mate. I think it's actually a Yamaha TD2 (chain is on the right and the green plate is for 250.) Super rare and one of the precursors of the TZ series. Check out the 4LS front brake!

  • I made a little mudguard / tail tidy thing for my RD as it didn't have one. Modelled on a folded up cereal box and bent / welded / filed and sanded out of some old aluminium sheet. Think it looks OK?

  • I really fancy an R1150RT for my twice weekly 75 mile commute- mostly motorway with a bit of London.

I'm a bit behind with this thread. I had the 1150GS and rode all the other versions as dealer loan bikes. They're all great. I was one of the few owners who had the gearbox explode. Probably just unlucky. OK, I did thrash it, but I'm sure most people do. It was terminal because tiny bits of gearbox circulate throughout the whole engine. Don't let my experience discourage you. The 6 speed box on the 1150 is lovely to use, unlike the 5 speed one on the 1100. At least it didn't seize and chuck me off.

  • Nicely done, amazing what difference new bars make. Recently switched to longer clip-ons for the SRAD and it's night and day.

@jung if you're not already, it won't be long until you're taking custom orders.

  • Wasn't there a drive shaft rear diff issue too, maybe a recall on later bikes but even the recalled bikes had issues too.

How about a rockster, they can be fun.

But I say go airhead over oil cos that is what I like. Oh and get the head protection as they save rocker cover damage.

  • Going to try and get my Dad's Sport Classic tidied up over the winter and the plan is to get it as OEM+ as possible... the stock indicators are super shitty chrome finished ones so I'd like to replace them with as close to identical as possible but with a nice polished alloy or black finish... any recommendations?

  • Astra* vs DR350, in a 20 zone.

  • Ah fucking balls
